Foreigners > French ppl
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009I will try to keep this blog updated as much as possible with some what interesting content – in more than 140 letters.
Lately I came to this conclusion: I like foreigners better than french people. Don’t get me wrong, I do have very good french friends. But I have to admit, the persons who had the biggest impact in my life are all from abroad. Miemo, Annie, Elizabeth, Jimmy, Addy… Maybe it’s due to the fact that I met these people during travels, and travelling duplicates emotions. At least for me. Simple situations such as sharing a meal with friends is not the same when it’s in a foreign country. I remember walking down the streets of Montreal with Annie and feel like the happiest girl in the world. Partying with Miemo and her crew in VA made me much much happier than when I party in Paris.
Okay. Maybe the conclusion isn’t correct. Foreign countries > France? I don’t know.
Foreign people are so much more sociable than the frenchies. I mean, me and Many went to this housewarming party in Paris the other day, and no one would talk to us (except for these 2 random guys who didn’t have much conversation, matter of fact I went to talk to them first). The place was full with small groups of ppl only talking to ppl they knew. What’s the point of having a party if people don’t get to meet new faces and share?
Sometimes I’ll be waiting in the line at the post office, or at the metro station… I see cool cats I’d like to approach but don’t dare to… cause I know how french people be! Like “who the hell are you why are you talking to me go away”. UGH.
No wonder social networks such as Myspace or Facebook were born in english speaking countries. I think the notions of socializing and networking are not popular enough in France. I wanna meet new people dammit! I’m thinking I’m just going to start talking to random people and I don’t care if the stuck up frenchies think I’m crazy.
Oh, and did I mention I was French?

Could this be a good one? or is it too deja vu?
